My grandmother used to say, “I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired!” I’ll just ask it like this, “Are you tired?” Maybe it’s work, maybe it’s a difficult relationship, or dealing with a tough season of life for some reason… or maybe all of the above?
Well know this; God understands that our tank runs empty sometimes. The Bible is full of references to our need for rest and refreshment. Verses like Matthew 11:28; “ Come to me all you who are (struggling hard) and loaded down, and I will refresh you”. Or Isa 40:31, “Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.”
So take hope in God’s promises of renewal, and remember this- you are. not. alone! We all go through times of exhaustion and fatigue, and it’s nothing to be ashamed of.
Let the hopeful, encouraging lyrics of The House fill your heart. And ask God to renew your mind as His Holy Spirit refreshes your soul. “God is the refresher and provides nourishment by pouring out His Spirit on us. The Holy Spirit is able to fill up our hungry and dry hearts…“ -Isa 44:3
