Celebrating the 4th of July is probably one of my favorite holidays (Christmas is the first), but with where this world is going, the presidential election and inflation... celebrating freedom through Jesus is more important than ever. That is the one freedom that cannot be dimmed or taken away. It’s what the world desperately needs, but not just on July 4th. Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” There’s a lot of different ways to be distracted from that freedom. It could look like figuring out how to take care of your family financially, feeling overwhelmed by the violence across the world, or trying to just move through life with hindrances that feel like a gray cloud over your head. But, we are being asked to stand firm in that freedom given by Jesus. We are being asked to lead others who aren’t there yet and need help. 1 Corinthians 6:19 tells us that our bodies are a temple for the spirit of the Lord. And, where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. This July, I pray that you take the time to fill up your cup with His spirit. Let His word remind you that you are free and you can lead others to that freedom through Jesus as well. As you walk out into the rest of July, I pray that you stand firm and not let the burdens of this world rain on your parade. Be blessed, be safe, and lead others towards that real freedom! P.S.
