A Heart of Thanksgiving

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1
As Thanksgiving approaches, you may be preparing to gather with family, friends, and loved ones. The smell of turkey roasting, the laughter around the table, and the joy of shared traditions fill our hearts with warmth. It's a time to reflect on the many blessings in your life and give thanks to God, who is the source of all goodness.
But let’s be honest: holidays also bring challenges. This year, with a recent presidential election fresh in our minds, the temptation to dive into political debates around the dinner table might be strong. While it’s important to care about our country and the world, Thanksgiving isn’t the time to let differing opinions overshadow the true purpose of the day. Use this opportunity to focus on gratitude, unity, and love instead.
Thanksgiving is a reminder that your blessings go far beyond what’s happening in the world. No matter the circumstances or how uncertain the future may feel, God’s love and provision remain constant. Each breath you take, each meal you enjoy, and every relationship you hold dear are gifts from Him. As you gather around the table this year, intentionally shift your conversation and heart toward gratitude.
Consider going around the table and inviting each person to share one thing they’re thankful for. From the smallest joys to life-changing blessings, each one is a reflection of God’s kindness. And remember: Thanksgiving isn’t just a holiday; it’s a posture of the heart you can carry throughout the year.
Even in challenging times, God continues to bless you in ways big and small. As you count your blessings, you are reminded of His faithfulness. Take this season to express your thanks to Him, not just with words, but through your actions and attitude.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at The House FM! May your day be filled with joy, gratitude, and the love of those closest to you.
