Be a Team Player
September 7, 2022 by Brent McCoy
One of my favorite sports to play is basketball. When you look at my 5'8" frame, it should be obvious that I am, in fact, a baller. As a matter of fact, during my senior year of high school, I averaged 4 points a game. I told you, I was a problem!
Maybe I should qualify this by saying that I was a point guard. Now, generally, the point guard is not necessarily called on to be a big scorer. The point guard's responsibilities are to direct traffic, get people to where they need to be, and then set up OTHER people to score.
A point guard is just as valuable to a team than any other position. If you don't think this is true, go find a great team that doesn't have a great point guard.
I take great pride in putting other people in position to score in life. I enjoy being about to help get someone to the point that they can make a difference.
As we get ready for our Fall Fundraiser, you have a chance to be the point guard. When you financially support this ministry, you are setting this ministry up for success. You are making the pass that gives someone else the opportunity to score.
Today, consider making your best gift so that the team has a chance for a victory!
