Childlike Wonder
April 12, 2023 by Logan Gassett
People often go through a phase or several of them where they are focused on “finding themselves”. This is true for myself as a young adult, phasing out of college. The knowledge, maturity, and lessons learned along the way however, can feel heavy. That is why it is important to carry that childlike wonder with you in your relationship with God. Matthew 18:1-5 says, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.” I want to encourage you (and myself) to never stop being curious, to never stop asking questions, and to always carry that childlike joy. Your spirit and heart has no age, despite the state of our earthly bodies. I pray that the beauty of God never dulls in your life. I pray and encourage that as Christians, we stop and smell the roses with God. Spring is in full bloom and God has something beautiful he wants to show you. Maybe this will encourage you as well, but one of my favorite things about Spring and Summer is how fresh the air is in the morning and at night. Take those moments to bask in his presence and go for a walk. When was the last time you went on a walk with God to simply appreciate what we often walk by everyday without taking the time to admire the beauty and creator?
